Squeeze Pages, Capture Pages, Opt-In Pages… I’ll refer to them here as Landing Pages. This is the page that appears when a potential customer clicks on your advertisement or finds your link in the search engine results. Your landing page provides a continuation of the conversation that began in your ad. If you give your visitors exactly what they were looking for, you will have a captive audience.
You should create targeted landing pages anytime you can control where people will be coming from, and your goal is a specific transaction such as sales or sign-ups. This is particularly true if you are paying for the traffic, with banner ads, sponsor links, or pay-per-click.
I see so many online marketers sending visitors to replicated websites that aren’t even capturing contact information. Obtaining this information is critical if you want to start building trust and a relationship with your prospective customers. Since a majority of visitors will NOT purchase anything on their initial visit, this is imperative.
